The goal of this post is to share some of my favorite trading resources without falling too far into the weeds.
When I started trading options, there were some great resources but nowhere near what's available now. We're at a point where traders are inundated with pure information overload, which can be crippling. Below are 3 go-tos:
Options as a Strategic Investment - Lawrence (Larry) McMillan. Still my go to options trading book and sits on the desk behind me and is an incredible reference. For any aspiring options trader, I cannot recommend that book enough.
Positional Option Trading - Euan Sinclair. This is a heavier book but I enjoy his dive into market structure and participants, option pricing, and volatility. For those interested in trading options more seriously, this would be my second go to.
Secrets for Profiting in Bull and Bear Markets -Stan Weinstein. Not option related BUT great and efficient market analysis walkthrough. Straight to the point and ties directly to historic examples.
Secondary books. These are the next sets of books that I'd go to if starting over again.
Lawrence (Larry) McMillan. Options for Volatile Markets, Profit with Options, and McMillan on Options.
Euan Sinclair. Option Trading Pricing and Volatility Strategies and Techniques, Volatility Trading
William ONeil. How to Make Money in Stocks
Natenberg. Option Volatility & Pricing
Dan Passarelli. Trading Option Greeks
In total, I have around 40 trading books that I circle back to regularly but much of that is for ancillary and niche information. Much is unnecessary to trade successfully, but simply because I enjoy them. What books would you add to this list?
